The actual game against Miami on the other hand is another story since VT lost 14-16 last night to the Miami Hurricanes. However, more than 25 alumni, friends, and fans gathered at Carolina Wings in the Vista to meet and eat, and yes, watch the game.
During half-time, Hokie “superlative” door prizes were awarded to five lucky winners. Eric Mullins ’04 lives in TN, but visiting Cola heard there was a Hokie party and showed up with two friends! He got the “Come Hell or High Water” award. The “Randomizer” went to the Hokie fan sending her child to VT right now, Nancy Nichols.
Bruce Sproles ’68 who brought too many to count fellow fans with him to the event earned the Hokie “Rafter” award while “Most Experienced” Hokie went to Charlie Beazley ’51. Hokie “LoveBirds” who met at VT and have been married the longest, was awarded to Gretchen Honeysett Lambert’94 and Scott Lambert ’94.
Fun was had by all! Our server, Abbey , said everybody was nice and paid their tabs–good job, Hokies!
