Big Event 2019 – Volunteer with the Columbia Hokies!

Do you live by Virginia Tech’s motto, Ut Prosim? Let’s put those words into action and give back to our community by volunteering at the Epworth Children’s Home “Annual Cookout 4 Kids BBQ.” This fundraiser raises money for the home and their mission to provide care for kids in need. More information about Epworth and the event can be found on their website:

Upon arrival at Epworth on Saturday, follow the signs for parking and then meet at the “volunteer” tent.

Thanks to everyone for their participation and willingness to give back to our community!

The Big Event at Virginia Tech is a student-run day of service that has grown into the second largest event of its kind in the nation. Every spring, thousands of students, faculty, and staff come together to complete nearly 1,200 community service projects throughout Blacksburg, Christiansburg and the New River Valley with the purpose of saying “Thank You.” Virginia Tech Alumni Chapters across the country participate in the Big Event by choosing a service project in their local community.
